For anyone that knows either me or Cole you know we have a never ending battle to get strong and lean. We just weren't blessed with the genes like other people and it takes a lot more work for us. Anyways about a year and a half ago I was pretty avid gym goer and I ate a pretty lean diet. I felt about the best I've felt in my life but then I got busy with school, work, and the love of my life and the gym to a back seat to movies and taco shops. When we came out to Hawaii I decided this was my big chance to get back in shape but we had no idea where we were gonna work out at. Then one day when we were sneaking into the pool at turtle bay I met this guy, Desmond Anesa. He worked there and I was trying to get him to give me a towel but he saw right through my crap and called me out on not staying at the hotel. I thought I was screwed cause I just pissed off a giant poly, but he turned out to be really cool. He lives in Haula a town just up from Laie where we're staying. I told him that we were in the weight room and he insisted that we come work out with him and his buddies in the "Iron Shed". It's a shack full of heavy rusty weights, benches, and giant Polynesians. It has a much different attitude and feel than any gym I've ever worked out at before. I've never gone in there without soaking my clothes and everyone is knows everyone.
We've been working out there for about a month and I have definitely put on a lot of muscle but I didn't count on how much we would be eating out down here. Now'm really not sure whether I'm getting fit or thick. We've been doing a lot of cardio but good food is my favorite past time and it's amazing how a good lift gets your appetite going. I want to get ripped but I'm worried that it just might not be in the cards for me. I'm having a great time with these guys though, they've completely transformed our trip and we hang out with them quite a bit so thick or fit I'm gonna keep it up until I get home...After all it is fun to pick up heavier stuff than I've ever lifted before.
